The Southern Methodist Church has two camps - Camp Summers and Manget (one camp),
near Orangeburg, and Camp Three Forks Trail in tghe beautiful Smokey Mountains
near Clayton, GA.
These are overnight, youth camps where children can escape the pressures of our
ever-changing world and can retreat to the never-changing love of God.
Counselors and workers for both camps are chosen after careful consideration.
We choose not just people who are willing to serve, but people who are genuine
Christians seven days a week. It is of utmost importance that workers be a Biblically
knowledgeable Christian examle to each child.
Children attend an arts and crafts time and also a morning Bible study. They are
given free time in the afternoon where they may go fishing, ride paddleboats,
swing on the swings, or play in the "rec" hall. Each evening they gather for
evening worship service including singing and Bible study. All buildings are
air-conditioned and handicap accessible.
At Three Forks Trails teens are served hot, country meals and snacks
throughout the day. Bible study is held every morning and evening. Some activities
include softball, volleyball, hiking, and going down a waterslide.
