First Church holds Prayer Meeting & Bible Study twice a week.
On Wednesday mornings we meet from 11:00 a.m. til noon. During the first half hour, everyone is given an opportunity to ask for prayers for someone in need because of sickness, hard times, or other difficult situations and/or to offer praise for prayers answ ered, blessings received ofr whatever. The last half hour is given to studying a chapter in one of the Bible books and how the lesson in that chapter should be applied in our daily lives and relationships with others and our relationship with the Lord. Bible study is followed by light refreshments and fellowship.
On Thursday evenings we meet from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. We usually have light refreshments as we wait for everyone to gather befoere time to start. We begin our session with prayer requests and/or praise. Then we study a chapter in one of the Bible books. This study period is more informal than the Wednesday morning session. Group participation is encouraged in discussion of the meaning of various verses in relationship to our present lives.
